Good morning to all!
Sorry, but I must respond also.

1. Students Are Important! This statement is printed on signs posted in
various departments on campus. We must never let the students know and
feel that they are "intruding" on us. I am glad that these posted signs
remind me daily of the purpose of my employment.

2. We must never forget that we all are employed because of these students
"intruding" on us between 8am & 5pm, Monday through Fridays. The longevity
of "our" employment on "this campus" depends on providing the students
with whatever it takes for them to be happy, not homesick, comfortable and
successful.

3. In the future, maybe Freshman Seminar should provide you and other
faculty members with a "rubber stamp signature" block to use. When you are
too busy to fulfill this part of your job duty, then you can delegate this
duty to your overworked and underpaid, faithful secretary.

4. Whatever the students need to "float their boat" (within reason) then
we should gladly provide for them.
If they are happy :)) we are happy :)) Happiness all around this campus
equals "job security" for all (and justice for all?) I digress, sorry.

Take care.
