Blackboard 5 (The old system) is going down NEXT THURSDAY October 23. You
will not be able to access the old system after that date, it will no longer
exist.

If you plan on re-using a class or any of its content, please:

Go to http://utconline.utc.edu/ and choose "Login Summer 2003"

Make a note of the COURSE ID (NOT the title) of the classes you may want to
use again.

It is important that you keep a record of the EXACT course ID (example:
ANTH152001002FA02 or MATH131002SU2AM03), otherwise we will no be able to
later identify which course you wish to restore the course content for you
later.

We are in the process of archiving all classes from the old system. These
classes will be available for you to restore at a later date IF you write
down the course ID now.

All we need you to do is make a note of the EXACT course id, we will keep
the archives. However, you may wish to keep a copy of your class on your
hard drive. (this is always a good idea.) If you wish to archive a copy of
your class:

To archive your old class:

- Go into the old UTC Online and open your class

- Go to the Control Panel

- Go to Course Utilities

- Go to Archive Course

- (1) Select the Content Areas you want to archive for this Course. In most
cases you want all areas except Users and Groups

- (2) Blackboard 5.5 package format (IMS 1.1 compatible) Use this option,
which is already selected for you.

- (3) Click Submit

- You will see a screen that says "Click here to download the exported
course site." Click on the word here and download the file (class archive)
to your hard drive. Make sure to place the file in a folder you will be able
to find later (e.g. My Documents)

- You can store this file on your hard drive or copy it to disk (floppy or
zip depending on size) or burn it to CD.
