I'm not about to waste time griping about the parking fees themselves,
though I am puzzled as
to why non-commuting freshmen aren't discouraged from bringing vehicles with
them or
at least relegated to parking in the boon docks as
they are on other urban campuses or even large schools like the University
of Georgia.

I think one solution would be to increase the fines
for illegal parking, especially for those impatient souls late for class who
park in non-existent spaces, handicapped spaces, and spots reserved for very
specific (and non-student) needs.

Unfortunately many of us who work here have odd hours, need our cars on the
job (not just to go to lunch!), or live far off the beaten path of CARTA,
any of which make car pooling an impossibility
