I really think that I have more important things to do than comment on
this one--like mull over the details of post-tenure review. Still, it is
my field so I guess that I should say something. Betsy Darken is right.
Lincoln was shot in Ford's theater. Booth was not shot in a warehouse. He
was trapped in a burning barn near a farmhouse in Virginia and shot there.
I suppose the Texas School Book Depository from which Oswald shot Kennedy
qualifies as a warehouse. As for Marilyn Monroe from what I remember in a
good book about Kennedy misbehavior (Thomas Reeves, A Question of
Character), it was never clear whether JFK or RFK or both or possibly
neither had affairs with her. But Bobby was the one who for whatever
reason was in her room after her body was found, following her alleged
suicide.
