New York based sculptor Chakaia Booker is in town this week doing a workshop
at Howard High School as a part of the Association of Visual Artists' "Art
and About" program. She will also be giving several lectures including one
tonight at 7 at the CC Bond auditorium at Chattanooga State and tomorrow
night at United Way. Tonight's lecture is free and information about
Thursday night is below. Though the information says that registration ended
on Monday, you can still register by calling AVA at 265-4282.

MUSE, AVAčs annual art lecture series will begin its new season with a talk
from
one of the country's premier sculptors, Chakaia Booker.
Cocktails and hors dčoeuvres will follow the lecture.
This event will take place in the United Way Community Meeting Room of the
Central Block
Building on 630 Market Street in downtown Chattanooga on Thursday, October
21, 2004 @ 5:30 pm.
The cost is $30 individual, $40 couple. Registration deadline: October 18.
