Dear Colleagues:

Last academic year William Harman, Richard Rice, and I created a UTC Asian Studies Committee. All faculty and academic administrators who are interested in Asia are welcome to join this committee. One specific activity that resulted from the creation of this committee is a UC Foundation-funded speaker series on Asia that occurred last spring and is continuing this fall.

Currently, we are planning a time for our first fall meeting. If you were not on the committee last year and are interested in participating, please send an email to this address indicating what afternoon times work or don't work for you. Please reply to this email by Monday, September 26. Shortly after that date Andrea Green and I will select a meeting day and time that works for the most number of people, and all who correspond will receive advance notice about our meeting.
