Dr. Judith Wakim of Nursing has received funds totaling $30,725
from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and
Services Administration (HRSA). The funding will support two nursing
scholarship programs during Fiscal Year 2003-2004.

Dr. Wakim received $12,290 to fund scholarships for disadvantaged
undergraduate nursing students and $18,435 for scholarships at the graduate
level. The scholarships provide financial assistance to nursing students
who are economically or environmentally disadvantaged, providing UTC
students with equal access to university nursing programs. With this
funding, Dr. Wakim is continuing the Department of Nursing's long-running
dedication to student support.

Congratulations to the School of Nursing. These nursing scholarships are a
inportant service to nursing students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
