Faculty Development Grants should be submitted to the chair of the Faculty
Development Grants Committee, Verbie L. Prevost, English Department, 2703,
by 5 p.m. on September 17.  Since the 15th falls on a Saturday, we are
extending the dealine until Monday the 17th.  Until a new form is
developed, please use the current form for both Leave and Faculty
Development Grant, available in the Faculty Handbook Appendix and also
online at

Omit the page that requires the signature of the department head and the dean.
Use additional pages if needed.
The budget should detail all planned expenditures.
TWENTY copies of the proposal should be submitted.

        If you have questions about whether your project qualifies for a Faculty
Development Grant, see the Faculty Handbook, sections 7.2.1 and 7.2.2.
Please note that the Faculty Development Committee handles only Faculty
Development Grants.  Requests for leaves will be handled as previously by
dept. heads/directors, deans, provost.
