I am pleased to inform you that UTC student Jonathan McGlumphy, a senior
  (projected to graduate in December of this year) majoring in
Mechanical Engineering, has decided to run for office (State House
District 31).  His district includes northern Hamilton County west of
the river and east of Walden's Ridge (in other words, the Middle Valley,
Sale Creek, Soddy Daisy area).

Jonathan is currently gathering signatures of registered voters in his
district to fill his nominating petition so he can get on the ballot.

Please take this opportunity to encourage a UTC student (one of our best
and brightest with a 3.9+ GPA in a very demanding major) to "get
involved" in the political process and tackle the issues that affect us all.
