Dear All, 

    As today was my last day on the UTC campus, I wanted to thank a few key
people. 

    First, within Foreign Languages, our Executive Assistant Cindy Williams,
who has been my good friend, and has always given me the greatest support
and assistance. You made my job so much easier. 

    I am also grateful to Debra Dickerson, my collegue in teaching lower
division and running the Spanish Film Series. I appreciate all that we have
shared and above all having someone working with me who also considers
student service and teaching of primary importance in what we do. 

    I am also indebted to Pedro Campa, who has so graciously written
recommendations for me and to Robert Stanley, who supported me in the
Committee, and has be my gentle counselor since. 

    I must express my thanks for all that I have learned in the Walker
Center, and to Karen Adsit, Charles Hart and Marcus Meyers, who have been
the best leaders and mentors that I found on this campus. I learned more
from you than from anyone. 

    Thank you to David Ashe and Lucas Van der Merwe in Math, who have been
my friends. 

    Most of all, I am grateful to my students. They were the reason I came,
the central purpose of my work and the greatest joy I found here. I am a
better teacher for having worked with them.
