Colleagues:
Guess what the latest edition of the "Jobs Rated Almanac" considers to be
the best average top-paying job around? Biologist at $92,000. The Almanac
uses six variables to rank 250 different job types: income, stress,
physical demands, potential growth, job security and work environment.
Check out the article on the latest edition of the Almanac at the Atlanta
Journal and Constitution's web site:

Maybe it's time for UTC's administration to start thinking about "Market
Pay" status for our Biological and Environmental Science faculty, who,
sadly, earn well below the average salaries for UTC faculty at all ranks.
I'm not holding my breath! At least the outlook for our graduates should
be improving.
Take care,
Henry Spratt
