It is not a bit premature to make judgements yet on the movie's factual content? There
are already many who, now that the movie has been screened, are raising valid questions.
Incidentally, I don't think that an article by a single NYT reporter is enough collaborative
evidence to say without a doubt that the content of Fahrenheit 9/11 is factual. In fact, his
article is so full of qualifiers and hedge words that it makes me think the opposite.

Just as one reference, review the following:

I can send more if you like.

And I am sure that there are many more to come. Mr. Moore has himself said
that his intention in forming this film is to make sure that the Democrats win in
this year's election, which in my opinion makes it no more than a two-hour political
attack ad.

Please don't misunderstand me here; my expectation is that there are some
facts in the movie, some misleading presentation, and some falsehoods. Certainly
here is an example that everyone can understand...imagine a scuffle breaks out in
the next room between two children. Is it reasonable to call one child out, ask for his/her
side of the story, and then make your decisions about who to discipline based on that?
Of course not; both children should be called out to tell their points of view, and hopefully
you can sort things out from there.

If you want to see the movie, by all means, I encourage you. However, you owe it to
your own intellect, as well as the country, to remember that you are watching only the
side of the story that Mr. Moore wants you to see.

respectfully submitted,

Daniel Hyams

Do I detect an air of elitism here?
