Colleagues:

 

As many of you know, today was Dean Jeffrey Burgin's last day on campus.
Jeff accepted the Dean of Students position at Alabama A & M in
Huntsville, Alabama and will begin work there on August 7th.  

 

As Assistant Dean of Students for Judicial Affairs and Director of
Multicultural Affairs, Jeff has made a positive, indelible imprint on
our campus since coming to UTC two years ago.  He has unfailingly been
the champion of all of our students whether they were facing judicial
action or seeking his advice, and they all hold him in very high regard.
Additionally, he lent his expertise to numerous campus and community
committees, always as a voice of concern for what was right for UTC
students.  

 

On behalf of the Division of Student Affairs and for the University, I
want to thank Jeff for his two years of tireless dedication to UTC, its
faculty and staff but most of all our students.  We will miss him but
wish him every success as he continues to climb "the academic ladder."
