Girl-to-Girl Relational Aggression
DID YOU KNOW?
• Over 160,000 girls and young women nationwide report missing school on a daily basis for fear of social alienation and hostility at the hands of other girls.
• In the Hamilton Co. 2002 - 2003 school year, among girls in kindergarten through 12th grade, there were 2,714 suspensions and 92 expulsions. An additional 162 cases were remanded to alternative schools.
• Out of these incidents, 900 cases were for violence or fighting, and 345 cases were for attendance.
• In 2002, the Hamilton County Juvenile Court system reported that 173 charges against girls for simple assault and 180 charges against girls for disorderly conduct were filed.

Girls’ Initiative Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating social change for girls through advocacy, education and activism. The organization is committed to mobilizing communities on the behalf of girls, empowering girls to embrace their potential, honor their resiliency, and believe in themselves. - The underlying causes of girl on girl aggression
- How girls can be trained to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence
- How we as adults can support girls in moving from adversaries to allies
