I received an unusual email from BellSouth (my home internet provider)
offering a free upgrade through a link in an email. I didn't open it and
talked with a BellSouth helpdesk employee, who confirmed that this
was not a legitimate email.

It is always a good idea to type in the home page for any web site you
patronize
rather than trusting an email link.
