It is with our deepest regrets that we announce the passing of Mr. Bernard
"Bernie" Hopkins, the husband of our own Mrs. Nilene Hopkins, a long-time
employee of the University.  Mr. Hopkins also formerly worked at UTC within
the Parking Services Department.

Mr. Hopkins passed away On July 24, 2001, at his residence after a lengthy
illness.  Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 26,
with funeral services immediately following at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home,
747 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga.  Graveside services and burial will be at
Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethon, Tennessee on Saturday, July 28
at 11:00 a.m.

Please join our University community in extending our heartfelt sympathy to
Ms. Hopkins and her family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her during
these hours of bereavement.
