Dr. Jane Brower, UC Foundation Assistant Professor in UTC's Teacher
Preparation Academy, has secured a grant of $24,300 from the Tennessee
Higher Education Commission to continue the long-standing and
highly-successful Each One Reach One program.

Dr. Brower's Each One Reach One (EORO) program will serve six minority
students this year, providing tuition assistance and a variety of other
resources to prepare them for teaching in disciplines with a shortage of
highly-qualified teachers. This year, EORO will focus on recruiting
teacher candidates to fill vacancies in critical-need areas identified
by Hamilton County Schools: elementary education, middle grades
education, special education, foreign languages, math, and science.

We extend our congratulations to Dr. Brower. The Each One Reach One
program provides opportunities for minority teacher candidates and helps
to increase diversity in Hamilton County's teacher workforce.
