Jonathan Looney recently secured a $44,550 grant through a renewed contract
with the Tennessee Student Assistance Association.  The grant will continue
to support The Office of Financial Aid's peer counseling program.

This program assists secondary students in understanding the financial aid
process and will encourage disadvantaged and minority students to be
cognizant of, and to pursue postsecondary educational opportunities in,
Tennessee.  Peer counselors from UTC will work in the high school guidance
offices of area high schools.

Congratulations to Jonathan Looney and the staff of Financial Aid on
receiving this continuation of funding for a much needed program!  Great job!
