SUBJECT: MTAS Consultant Visit

The University is in the process of reviewing the staff compensation plan
and has enlisted
consultants from the UT Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) to
assist in this important activity.

A key part of this project is gathering the thoughts of current University
staff members regarding what parts of the current compensation plan work
well and areas in which you suggest modifications and improvements should be
made..

To provide an opportunity for all employees to participate in this project,
the MTAS consultants are holding open forums at all campuses across the
state. These forums are intended to provide staff an opportunity to share
information with our MTAS consultants and for them to ask specific questions
about various compensation issues.

The open forum for our campus is scheduled for November 19, 2003, 2:00 -
3:30 p.m. in Room 100 of Fletcher Hall.

Your input and issues are important as we look at ways to improve the way
the university manages its compensation dollars. I encourage you to attend
the forum and share your thoughts. If you have questions about the forum or
the process, please contact Dan Webb at [log in to unmask] or 425-4729 for
more information.
