Dear Campus Community,

GEAR UP is currently seeking a few volunteer tutors to help out in our
inner city middle schools the remainder of the school year. We are seeking
interested faculty, staff or students to assist the teachers during the
school day in the 8th grade Algebra classes.

The times vary during the school day and are as follows:

1. Orchard Knob Middle School - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 - 9:30.
This is just one block and one classroom. he also tutors after school and
could use some help as well. School gets out at 2:15 and he usually tutors
from 2:30-3:30. Mr. Beck is the teacher. A former UTC alumni.

2. Franklin Middle School - Tuesday and Thursday - These days are Mrs.
Bingham lab days and she could use some help throughout the day. The school
day starts at 7:15 and the blocks run every 55 minutes. I would like to
find someone who could possibly do Tuesday and Thursday and take on one
block or two back to back. The times vary here. If someone is more
available in the morning or late morning/early afternoon works best.

3. Chattanooga Middle - Mrs. Jones need help at any time. I would like to
talk with interested students and then go from there. There class
schedules/blocks vary from day to day, so it's hard to pinpoint a
particular block, but she is willing to have anyone at anytime to come in
and assist in here Algebra classroom. After school additional tutoring
would be an option as well. School let's out here at 4:00 p.m.

remaining 4-5 weeks of school please give me a call at 425-2341 or reply to
