BOOKS & COFFEE

The next meeting of "Books & Coffee," a forum for public discussion, will be
held on Tuesday, February 25, 7:30 PM, at Fathom Liquid Art, located at 412
Market Street.

Our presenter will be Professor Thomas Kazee, Professor of Political Science
at the University of the South (Sewanee), who will speak on Bob Woodward's
book "Bush at War," which offers an account of the Bush presidency in the
three months immediately after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Amazon.com describes the book as "classic Woodward," making use of dozens of
high-level (and often unidentified) sources to piece together "a nearly
day-by-day account of the decision-making processes and power battles behind
the headlines." Woodward's information is based on largely on his own
tape-recorded interviews with over a hundred sources, including four hours
of exclusive interviews with the president, along with notes from cabinet
meetings and access to some classified reports.

It is a timely subject, and should make for a stimulating discussion. "Books
& Coffee" is cosponsored by UTC's SunTrust Chair of Excellence in Humanities
and Covenant College. The event is free---and so is the Greyfriar's coffee!
The general public is warmly invited.
