The HHP Department is conducting research that limits participation to UTC
faculty and staff.  Assessments will include cholesterol, body composition,
general health questionnaire, blood pressure, quadriceps strength, and PACE
counseling.  Participants will receive the results of all tests.   
 
In addition to assessments, we are offering participants an opportunity to
join a variety of activity classes that will take place here on campus this
summer.  Classes will last for three months, beginning on May 7.  There will
be a lunch time Tai Chi and evening aerobic classes inclusive of body
conditioning and belly dancing.  If you are not interested in group classes
we can offer personal training in the PA Center.  These activities will not
cost research participants anything.  The group classes are fun and an
excellent method of getting in shape with the support of friends.  Personal
training is the best way to focus on personal fitness goals and is very
successful.  
 
Testing will require one hour of your time.  For accurate measures
participants must be prepared to fast for 8 hours prior to cholesterol
testing.  Testing can be arranged at the convenience of participates and can
be divided into two sessions.  All information is protected by HIPAA Medical
Privacy Act.
