On behalf of myself and several other unfortunate souls who were again
locked in Lot 35 (between the tennis courts and the Arena), I make this
plea:
Please inform the University community a day in advance when you are going
to close the lot.
Surely, it cannot be that much trouble to put out a campue e-mail on Friday
stating that you will close the lot Monday morning or even to put a sign on
the entrance gate stating that fact. Instead, you let 20-30 cars park in
the lot and lock them in. I guess it also too much trouble to have someone
readily accessible to let the unfortunate detainees free. Instead, we have
to go find a phone, call security, and wait and wait and wait for someone
to unlock the gate. This current practice is simply unacceptable.
I understand the need to close the lot for events. I simply believe there
is a more effecient manner of doing so.
