SOUTHERN CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Week 8 (April 12-18 Games)

MEGAN LURING, Chattanooga, Sophomore, Designated Hitter/Outfield 

Megan Luring (Yakima, Wash.) managed at least one hit in all games over the 
week to lead Chattanooga to a 4-0 sweep of College of Charleston to secure 
the top seed in the upcoming Southern Conference tournament and finish league 
play with a perfect 16-0 record. 

The sophomore crushed her sixth home run of the season, and recorded multiple 
hits and multiple RBI in three of the six games last week. She also had a 
1.056 slugging percentage. Luring hit two doubles and a triple in the 
doubleheader win over Charleston Southern. 

She is currently second on the team with a .403 batting average, 60 hits, 14 
doubles and 34 RBI. Luring has booked more than one hit in 17 games this 
season, and is currently on an eight-game hitting streak. She leads the team 
with a .533 batting average in league play.

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PITCHER-OF-THE-WEEK
Week 8 (April 12-18 Games)

BETH ALEXANDER, Chattanooga, Freshman, Right-hander 

Beth Alexander (Chattanooga, Tenn.) pitched two one-hitters for two shutouts 
vs. SoCon foe College of Charleston over the weekend to help the Lady Mocs 
clench a top seed in the upcoming league tournament. She tallied nine 
strikeouts en route to a 9-1 victory at Charleston Southern Friday in 
non-conference play. 

The freshman is on a nine-game winning streak, and kept UTC's opponents to a 
.083 batting average this week, allowing just five hits. Alexander lists 
third in UTC's career strikeouts record book with 173, an average of 1.25 per 
inning pitched. She is second on the team with a 1.26 ERA overall and a 0.64 
in league contests.
