I am sorry for not responding to most of you individually. I was overwhelmed by the response to my departure. I like to think I put a lot of personal effort and involvement into my work here but I never wanted to think, if only for the purposes of avoiding getting a big head, that I had honestly left such a strong impression on so many.

I have attempted to respond, if only briefly, to questions, but I left the comments as just that. But don't think I didn't read them and that I wasn't touched. I will miss all of you.

Please do not reply to this e-mail. Today is my last day and I shall not revisit this e-mail account. I will simply have to rely on the Helpdesk to pass along to me anything pivotal from here forward. Those of you who know my family or with whom I have previous ties will hear from me again, worry not. The rest of you will see me again, I hope, as I plan to visit sometimes when I am in town. I expect for the next couple years I will be by at least once a year to do some quick rounds to say hello to everyone.
