"Exercise Mix Linked to Health of Brain"

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University have found that regular physical
activity such as walking, household chores, mowing (walking, not riding)
grass, raking, gardening, hiking, jogging, biking, exercise cycling...keeps
our minds fit as we age. Additionally, the researchers reported an
association between variety of activity and lower risk of dementia.

Their advise: Challenge your body. Start slowly with one type of activity
you enjoy, then add on. .........Source: Lisa Lisdane, The Orange County

"Local Companies, City, Citizens get Serious About Obesity:

More than 60% of Tennesseans are classified as overweight. That financial
burden totaled $1.8 Billion in medical expenditures for adult obesity in
Tennessee during 2003.

Officials with Unum Provident Corporation, the nation's No. 1 disability
insurer, say its obesity-related claims have risen tenfold over the past
decade. Also:
1. Employers lose more than $12 Billion a year due to the consequences of
obesity
2. Obesity-related disabilities cost employers an average of $8,720 per
worker annually.
3. The prevalence of obesity in the U.S. Has increased 74 percent since
1991.
4. Obesity accounts for 1 percent of UnumProvident's 380,000 short term
disability claims annually.
5. Individuals filing claims related to obesity have much higher medical
costs than others who are disabled, averaging $51,000 per claimant per year.
