Subject: Five UTC students have summit Mount Rogers last weekend. 
For immediate release,
Mount Rogers is the highest mountain in Virginia (5,729 feet).  After four 
hours, of a 500 foot accent, all five highly determined women and their 
guide reached the summit of Mount Rogers.  The conditions along the way 
were a motivating factor.  The high was 45 degrees and the lows were in 
the 30’s, with 30 to 40 mile-a-hour winds, and rainy.  Wind chill was in 
the teens.  That night the temperatures fell into the 20’s, winds were 
clam.  In the morning, the group descended to Grayson Highlands State 
Park. The students celebrated their achievement with their guide at 
Cracker Barrel before returning to UTC.  

All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate in this 
month’s UTC Outdoors activities.

Every 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month.
