Actually, I was ascribing things to NATURE, not GOD.  Anthropomorphizing
either is suspect, IMHO, although I was guilty of just that; it's the sort
of thing found in the Journal of Irreproducible Results.

Now, if YOU want to bring into the picture the desert sky-God who speaks to
Mesopotamian natives and who gives away the same real estate to three or
four different clients, a more interesting question might be which gang of
infidel thugs is favored to prevail in Iraq.
