There will be a Sacred Harp instruction class this Sunday, Sep. 19, at 2 PM
in Room 310 of Cadek Hall.  The class is free, and all are welcome.  Sacred
Harp singing is 'a capella' and is sung from a special hymn book which uses
shaped notes.  You do not need to know how to read music.  Sacred Harp was
featured recently in the movie 'Cold Mountain'.  If you want to know more

This will not be a regular singing.  The participants will learn about
singing the shapes/recognizing the intervals and will work at whatever pace
is needed.  There will be hymnbooks available to use for the class.

If you can't get to this class at such short notice, there are more
scheduled for Nov. 14, Jan. 16, and Mar. 13.
