Dear UTC Community,
There seems to be confusion about the Thanksgiving break and the calendar
printed in the undergraduate catalog:
Because of concern for the safety of students who need to travel home,
Faculty Senate approved an early start for the Thanksgiving holiday FOR
STUDENTS beginning Wednesday, November 24. The Thanksgiving holiday is
November 25-26. (These are the dates noted in the undergraduate
catalog.) This break in the academic calendar should not be confused with
the Thanksgiving Day national holiday on Thursday, November 25, and the
administrative closing following it on Friday, November 26.
The University will be open for business as usual on Wednesday, November
24, since it is not a holiday for faculty and staff.
Best wishes, Deborah Arfken
