University of Tennessee Press Author to Sign Book at Chattanooga Barnes &
Noble

S. Kittrell Rushing is scheduled to appear at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in
Chattanooga at 2230 Hamilton Place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22.

Rushing will be autographing Journal of a Georgia Woman, 1870-1872,
(University of Tennessee Press, 2002) the journal he recently edited and
for which he wrote an introduction.

The journal, kept by acclaimed author Eliza Frances Andrews, sheds light on
the social and economic transformations of the Reconstruction era,
particularly as they were perceived and experienced by a southern woman of
the aristocracy.

Rushing is head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at
the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
