FACILITIES UPDATE
APRIL 30, 2002

Grote 129 Renovation
A major renovation to the 250-seat auditorium in Room 129 Grote Hall will
begin tomorrow, May 1 and continue through the months of May and June.  The
room will receive a major facelift including new lighting, seating,
flooring, paint, and other miscellaneous finishes.  Information Technology
will be installing the newest A/V set-up in the room concurrently with the
Facilities project.

One of the components of this renovation is the abatement of
asbestos-containing ceilings at the front and the back of the room. This
work will be done using full containment within the room during the period
of May 6-10.  If there are any questions regarding this process, please

Departmental Moves
Several departments/entities will be relocated during the month of May in
preparation for two major capital projects, the University Center Expansion
& Renovation, and Race Hall Renovation.

The following moves will take place the first part of the month:

From Guerry Center:
UTC Bookstore textbook sales -- to Administrative Services Bldg., 2nd floor
From University Center:
Adult Services -- to Siskin Memorial 1st floor
From Race Hall:
Continuing Education -- to Siskin Memorial 2nd floor (moved in April)
Graduate School -- to Siskin Memorial 1st floor
Assoc. Provost/Undergraduate Programs -- to Siskin Memorial 1st floor/South
wing
Upward Bound-- to Hooper Hall 2nd floor
Student Support Services -- to Vine St. Portable Bldg. "A" (nearest Vine
St.)
Grants & Program Review -- to Vine St. Portable Bldg. "B"
Audit  -- to 605 Oak Street 3rd floor
Assoc. Provost/Academic Administration -- to Fletcher Hall 4th floor
From Hooper Hall:
Institutional Research & Testing -- to Vine St. Portable Bldg. "C" (nearest
Lot 6)
From Fletcher Hall:
Freshman Seminar -- to Siskin Memorial 1st floor/South wing
From Siskin Memorial:
Art adjunct & retiree offices -- to Metro Annex

Student Computer Labs -- to Siskin Memorial 105 & 106, 111 (Lab Manager
office)
   (a second lab space is planned for Siskin Memorial 215 beginning Aug.

Food Services -- to Guerry Center 1st floor (where textbook sales were)
   (Aramark will be announcing when and what will be open for business)
