Dear Colleagues,
I wonder how many of us realize how lucky we are to live in a city
undergoing a true renaissance. As someone who grew up here, left to
experience the world and returned, I see a completely different city from
30 years ago. Just last weekend I heard Chattanooga grouped with cities
like New York and San Francisco in a CBS "Sunday Morning" segment about
"Slow Food." A few weeks ago, NPR's Susan Stamberg included us with the
worldly cities of Paris and Amsterdam as places that have undergone a true
transformation. Even the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has labeled us a
"vibrant, hip, sophisticated city."
With that said, I would like to thank our own Kim Renz at the Fine
Arts Center and Allied Arts Director Molly Sasse for sending us information
about theatre and other events coming soon to campus and Chattanooga
venues. Anyone who says "there's nothing to do" here just doesn't know
where to look. Thanks Kim and Molly!
Molly also tells me that we can get Allied Arts information easily
on our computers at work and at home. Here's how:
Allied Arts sends out a weekly e-mail newsletter about arts events
and activities. If you'd like to enroll, please send your name, your home
address AND your e-mail address to [log in to unmask]
Kim, of course, and the good folks in the theatre and music
department, keep us informed of campus performances via email.
Yes, folks, partnerships work! All we have to do is keep clicking!
