The National Faculty Development Institute on "Incorporating Japanese
Studies into Undergraduate Curriculum," will be held at San Diego State
University from June 5-30, 2000. The Institute is an intensive four week
program that is designed for faculty and administrators without prior
experience in Japanese studies. The program consists of seminars,
lectures, readings, & workshops on the major historical, political,
economic, & cultural trends & achievements of the Japanese people.
Sasakawa Fellowship awards provide much of the cost of the Institute,
including housing, $500 for travel and a $675 stipend for meals and other
expenses.
The proposal deadline is February 25, 2000.
