To Don,

I laughed out loud when I read your joke but I laughed even louder over
Robin's reply, bless her heart, so hard in fact, I spilled a mug of hot
black coffee... or was it coffee without milk?

I guess you didn't get the memo. "Mechanic" has been added to the List of
Banned Joke Pejoratives. You know the list I'm referring to. It already
contains retard, frog, blonde, midget and more. To avoid sanctions next time
you want to share a chuckle, simply use the Edit, Find, Replace tools to
substitute any of the Listed Words with one that seems to offend practically
no one: "Attorney".

Ron

Ps: could you send me a copy of the original joke? I'd love to forward this
whole thread to my attorney and mechanic friends.

To Robin,

Don's joke was degrading?

Without taking any of this too seriously, I do want to point out that Don's
joke contained none of the pejoratives summarily banned by those empowered
by no one in particular.

You suggest that the "mechanic" is somehow a victim, disabled, without
enough self-esteem, dignity and imagination to deal responsibly with his own
life on his own terms...deserving, therefore, to be lumped into the heap of
all the other PC penalized minorities deserving of quotas, affirmative
action, preferential treatment, euphemistic speech and censorship.

In my opinion, your reply was far more degrading to mechanics than Don's
joke. Bless your heart!

Ron
