All,

I wanted to take a moment to say thanks to the UTC community in general
and publicly recognize some people and departments in particular for
their sponsorship of several of our families for Christmas. We were
late for a variety of reasons in getting this project going this year,
but the UTC community really came through and allowed us to provide
Christmas gifts and food to 9 families - families in need who were not
receiving this kind of support from any other agencies. In no
particular order we would like to thank Dianne Miller and the office of
Grants & Program Review, Cindy Carroll and the office of University
Relations, Joan Dunn from the College of Health and Human Services, Dean
Lanny Janeksela from the College of Health and Human Services along with
the folks from his neighborhood, Marvin Ernst from College of Health and
Human Services, Pam Guess from the College of Education and Applied
Professional Studies, Lee Ann Viall & Lee Pierce and the "Mocs Squad"
form the Office of Admissions, Kay Lindgren & Janet Seacrest and the
School of Nursing, Frances Fuller and Center for Community Career
Education, Debby Corey from the Educational Opportunity Center, Ann
Mayer from UTC's Children's Center and Linda Hartbarger of TEIS. There
were so many people that were part of this effort (including several
non-UTC so please accept my apologies if I've left you off this list.
Your generosity was overwhelming and you have made Christmas possible
for these families.

Next year we will begin this project earlier. We have decided to name
the project "Lexie's Legacy" in honor of the grandchild of one of our
staff members - a grandchild who died an untimely death this last year.
We felt this a suitable way to remember Lexie. So keep your eyes open
next Fall for further information and the kickoff of this ongoing
project.

Thanks!
