Dr. Gene Ezell of the Department of Exercise Science, Health, and Leisure
Studies has been awarded a $9,600 grant by the State of Tennessee
Department of Education. This grant will fund two workshops in November
2001 and May 2002 to keep Teacher Training Center members up-to-date in HIV
prevention strategies. Those trained in the workshops will then present
the material in workshops for teachers sponsored by the Teacher Training
Center, providing professional development for teachers in the area.

Congratulations to Dr. Ezell on this award, which will fund a very
important program, allowing teachers to present updated HIV prevention
strategies and to help create a better understanding of the HIV virus and
its effects.
