Hi,
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be
accepting applications for the HUD Urban Scholars Fellowship Program. This
program provides grants of up to $55,000 to encourage and support new
scholars to undertake research on topics of interest to HUD.
Eligible faculty are Ph.D. recipients who received their doctoral degrees
no earlier than January 1, 1998. The deadline for submitting an
application is December 17, 2003.
HUD is interested in funding research related to the following
topics: increasing home ownership and ensuring equal opportunity in
housing; improving our nation's communities; encouraging accessible design
features and promoting decent affordable housing; building the capacity of
grass-roots, faith-based, and other community-based organizations to be
agents of community improvement; improving housing, community, and economic
development within high needs areas such as Appalachia, the Mississippi
Delta, and Tribal Areas; ending chronic homelessness in less than ten
years; etc.
