Dr. Bob Frodeman has been awarded an additional $17,650 from the National
Science Foundation for his Southwest Earth Sciences project. This is an
eight-week summer research program for undergraduate students, half of whom
are from the sciences and half from the humanities.

Dr. Frodeman's program combines research on scientific issues of acid mine
drainage in southwest Colorado with research into the relationship between
science and public policy.

Congratulations, Dr. Frodeman, on this additional funding to provide such a
meritorious research opportunity for undergraduate students.
