Dear Ms. Drapiza,

        I couldn't disagree more with your e-mail. The price of gasoline
is the cheapest it has been since the 1930s (adjusted for inflation, of
course), leading to an insane wasting of finite natural resource (and
contributing to pollution and global warming to boot). The sane thing to
do would be to gradually institute a dollar a gallon increase in the gas
tax over the next four years, using the money to develop public
transportation and alternative energy sources.
