If Richard Rice's email wasn't enough to get you through the end of the
semester, try this.  Wait in your office until you hear a student rifling
through a bookbag, run to the door, and when the student slides that late
paper under the door, you shove it right back!

 

This only works if the doors locked, of course.  Otherwise, the student will
open your door and feed you a really lame excuse as to why the paper is
late, and that's no fun.  But, messing with a student's mind certainly is,
especially if they are trying to give you a late paper!  [insert
evil-villain laugh here]
