At the risk of my postings becoming annoying, here is yet another update
on network problems on campus.  My intent is to reduce the
load of calls to the HelpDesk, Computing Services, and Network
Services while we work to resolve the issue.

The software upgrade did not correct the problem.  We are back to the
drawing board with a few good leads, and I'm waiting on a callback
from Cisco on some new research results I sent collected throughout
the day.

Meanwhile, bear with us.  This is not a "hard, solid" failure, but
more like trying to carry on a conversation over a noisy phone line.
Both ends have to keep repeating themselves, but communication is not
completely out.  Just keep trying (took me three times to get my mail
from cecasun, but it finally arrived).  And again, this is affecting
primarily the academic networks as mentioned in an earlier notice.
