An inadvertent configuration error caused a core network and
systems outages this afternoon. The problem is being corrected.
Our apologies for the interruption in service.

One benefit of the "4th" generation network that exists in the
EMCS and is planned for the campus is that problems of this sort
will be more isolated and cause less disruption.
