Below tells you how to manage your listserv using the web interface and
also describes how to use the bulk add or delete operation with a text
file. You can create your own text file or use the very easy procedure
described to add and delete class rolls. Let me know if you need any help.
To manage your listserv:
http://raven.utc.edu/cgi-bin/wa.exe
Choose Mailing list management interface (list owners only)
On the next screen click on "get a new listserv password first". Enter
your GEM address as your email address ([log in to unmask]) and
whatever password you choose. This will send a confirmation letter to your
email which you must reply to with the letters ok in the body of the
message. After this you will be confirmed and can go back to the home page
to begin managing your listserv.
Choose Mailing list management Interface (list owners only) and log in with
your GEM address and password you chose. This will take you to the List
Management Main Page. From here you can manage subscribers, make changes to
the configuration of your listserv, and various other options.
To use the bulk operations to add or delete class rolls, do the following:
1. Sign on to your hpdesk (ASIS, Reflections) account and choose (11)
UTC Applications
2. Type Listserv and enter your class information (term, dept, course,
section) 3. When it brings up the box to save the file, choose
where you wish to save it (Save in:)
4. Rename the file as filename.txt (e.g. engl113.txt, the file
extension should be .txt)
5. After saving the file go to the listserv
homepage (http://raven.utc.edu/cgi- bin/wa.exe)
6. Choose Mailing List Management Interface (list owners only) and log in
7. Type in the name of your listserv and choose the bulk operations command
8. Type in the complete file path of your file (e.g., e:\classroll.txt)
9. Choose the add option for your list
10. Click on import
If you forget where your file is you can click on browse to locate the
file. You can use the same file at the end of the semester to delete the
class roll.
