To everyone interested in this email forum:
I am wondering why there is any question at all.
Ray Bradbury's novel was "Fahrenheit 451." Mr. Moore's film is "Fahrenheit
9/11". As Dr. Prevost says, can the word "fahrenheit" be copyrighted? I
don't think so.
Also, from my past life as a mainstream journalist, I do recall that
typically titles aren't copyrighted, just the work that is assigned the
title. Hence, as Mr. Renz says, there are many movies with the same title,
and even plays and books. Trouble is, if you write a great stage play, book
or screenplay and title it "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof," you've got some pretty
stiff competition out there already. Hard to compete with a classic
American playwright like Tennessee Williams!
My thoughts.
Bill
