Hey, folks,

My pick of the month is All My Sons (for somewhat selfish reasons), one of
Arthur Miller's most powerful plays. It runs June 7-22. For ticket info,
contact the Theatre Centre box office at 267-8534.

>Just like clockwork, the heat wave arrives right on schedule and just in
>time for Riverbend. Every year in the week leading up to our city's
>favorite party, I think "This year it should be pretty cool and comfy at
>Riverbend" and every year we get a heat wave the week of the festival. Oh
>well, it just wouldn't be the same without it.
>
>So. . .get out your party shoes, struttin' shoes, or cruisin' shoes, and
>head for Ross's Landing for Riverbend 2002. The line-up looks great, with
>something for everyone. Of course, we're excited here at Allied Arts about
>sponsoring Art Garfunkel's appearance with our wonderful Chattanooga
>Symphony and Opera, but the whole nine-day extravaganza looks like great
>fun.
>
>(My best Riverbend tip: head for the UnumProvident stage by the Hunter
>Museum, where the line-up features more jazz and acoustic than some of the
>other stages. But don't tell too many people-it's not quite as crowded as
>Ross's Landing!)
>
>There are more arts treats this week, too. For something completely
>different, check out the Chattanooga Theatre Centre's production of Arthur
>Miller's dramatic masterpiece, "All My Sons."
>
>Also, this week brings us First Friday Freebie at the Hunter Museum, with
>free admission all day long. You can still see the fascinating "Chasing
>Napoleon" exhibit.
>
>There are many more arts events this week, which you can find on our website
>at www.alliedartschattanooga.org. You can also get information on times,
>locations, and purchasing tickets for these and other events.
