Dr. Tatiana Allen, UC Foundation Associate Professor of Physics, Geology,
and Astronomy, recently attended the Third World Conference on Photovoltaic
Energy Conversion, which took place in Osaka, Japan. She lectured there
about Microcrystalline Silicon Thin Films Using D.C. Saddle-Field Glow
Discharge, and a paper based on her presentation will be published in the
conference proceedings this December.

Dr. Allen also presented two lectures at the spring meeting of the Material
Research Society in San Francisco. Based on these talks, the following two
papers will be published : (1.) Influence of Hydrogen Dilution on Properties
of Silicon Film Prepared by D.C. Saddle Field Glow Discharge: Observation of
Microcystallinity, and (2.) Electrical and Optical Properties of Amorphous
and Microcrystalline Hydrogenated Silicon Films Deposited Using Saddle Field
and Glow Discharge.

Congratulations to Dr. Allen!
