On Tuesday, September 20, 2005 John R. Lenton will make two
presentations at UTC that also are open to the public. The first
presentation will be in 114 Fletcher Hall at 9:30 to 10:30 AM; the second
presentation is scheduled in the Raccoon Mountain Room (University Center)
at 11:00 AM to noon. Seating for both presentations will be on a first-come
basis.

John Lenton was a senior Vice-President for American Express
Europe from 1982 through 1996. In 1997 he took early retirement from
American Express to establish a Business School at Emanuel University in
Oradea, Romania. He is that School's Dean, teaches six courses per year,
and is responsible for its administration and course-faculty development.
This provides John a unique perspective and insight into Eastern Europe's
transition from a soviet-type economy to a market-oriented economy.

John Lenton has extensive experience and knowledge developing
technological interfaces between American Express and a variety of business
partners in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Prior to his employment with American Express, John Lenton worked
at Lloyds Bank, Alex Lawrie Factors Limited, and W. R. Grace & Co. In 1974
he earned the MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School; before
that he graduated from Exeter College (Oxford, England) with a BA (Honors
and 2nd in class) in Modern Languages. He has the following language
skills: Romanian (fluent), French (fluent), Spanish (reasonable), German
(rusty), Swahili (spoken, not written).
