The Political Science Club invites you to attend its Second Annual Human
Rights Awareness Forum.  The purpose of the Forum is to focus attention on
issues related to Human Rights in America and elsewhere.  There are five
events scheduled for this year:

Gay Marriages in the United States
Thursday, March 18, 2004 from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.
Panelists:  Jennifer Martin and and Marcus Ellsworth
They will discuss the federal and various state legislations being proposed
to bar homosexual marriages in the U.S.
(This event is being co-sponsored with Spectrum)

Universal Health Care Issues
Thursday, March 25, 2004 from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.
Panelists: Christian Montz (Graduate student in the Public Administration
Program) and Tony Garr (Tennessee Health Care Campaign)

Latin American Issues
Friday, March 26, 2004 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
Lecture by Dr. Paul Posner (former UTC professor)

The Patriot Act and Homeland Security
Tuesday, March 30, 2004 from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.
Open discussion with U.S. Attorney for Eastern Tennessee Harry Mattice, Jr.

Racial Profiling in America
Thursday, April 1, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Panelists:  Selwyn Samaroo (Graduate student in the Public Administration
Program), Russell Fowler (Attorney with Legal Aid), Khalid Hashmi
(Spokesperson for AN-Nour Islamic Community and Member of the Hamilton
County Human Rights and Human Relations Commission), and Eddie Holmes
(President of the Chattanooga Branch of the NAACP)

All events will be held in the Raccoon Mountain Room of the University Center.
