The Chattanooga Area Fair Housing Roundtable will meet again on Tuesday, March 16, at 2:00 pm at the conference room at The Salvation Army at 800 McCallie Avenue. Feel free to park at the Doctors Building next door.

Our speakers will be Gail Pollock, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga, and Jonathan Shatz, Family Services Director also of Habitat for Humanity. Our local Habitat for Humanity organization has not only had remarkable success in building houses for our low-income neighbors but also in keeping these folks in their homes. As you may have seen in the press, many in other areas of Tennessee have fallen victim to preditory lenders and lack of education about finances. Habitat for Humanity in Chattanooga is one of the positive stories concerning housing in our region. It has a success record far surpassing other communities across the country in keeping people in their new homes. Our Habitat for Humanity understands that there is more to its mission than just building a house. These new homeowners must be taught how to keep it in a world where they are targeted for scams and fruad.

We will also have our regular discussion of area housing issues, problems, and solutions. Everyone is invited. Please try to come and bring a friend.
